Great infrastructure goes unnoticed.
Reliable networks, well-run cloud platforms and responsive service desks rarely make the news. They are the result of skilled people. With the Dutch Cybersecurity Act (NIS2) in force and DORA shaping resilience in financial services, those people matter more than ever.
We specialise in IT infrastructure recruitment across the Netherlands, covering Architecture & Strategy, Cloud, Infrastructure & IT, Cyber & Information Security and IT Service Management. We support permanent and interim hiring across fintech, insurtech, greentech and transport.
IT Infrastructure recruitment that delivers
From our Netherlands Leadership team.
Our consultants each specialise in one area of the technology market rather than taking a generalist approach, across multiple specialisms. In IT infrastructure, that means keeping our market knowledge current every day, tracking how cloud and hybrid platforms are reshaping infrastructure teams, how regulation such as the Dutch Cybersecurity Act is increasing demand for security and resilience skills, and how pay is moving. This means our conversations about your brief start from a shared understanding of the work and up-to-date market intelligence.
Infrastructure supports every other technology investment a business makes, and the professionals behind it often carry broader responsibility than their job titles suggest. Which is why we look at the whole picture when assessing candidates.
Technical capability is the foundation, whether that’s cloud platforms, networks, identity and access management or service management tooling. Alongside it, we explore the experience that makes infrastructure professionals trusted across a business:
- owning systems in live production environments
- handling incidents calmly and learning from them
- working within change and security controls
- explaining technical risk clearly to the people making decisions
These qualities turn technical skill into infrastructure your business can rely on. For urgent requirements, we can fill roles within two days. Our typical fill rate is 96% through exclusive partnerships and 77% in a preferred supplier capacity.
IT infrastructure covers a broad and technically varied set of disciplines. Gravitas recruits across five specialisms:
- Architecture & Strategy: enterprise, solution and infrastructure architects, plus Heads of Infrastructure and IT leadership.
- Cloud: Azure, AWS and Google Cloud engineers and architects.
- Infrastructure & IT: infrastructure, network and system engineers, and beheer professionals.
- Cyber & Information Security: security engineers and architects, SOC analysts, IAM specialists, information security officers and CISOs.
- IT Service Management: service, incident and problem managers, ITSM tooling specialists and service desk professionals.
Gravitas works with organisations building and maintaining their infrastructure in-house, at every stage of that journey: enterprises managing complex hybrid estates, scale-ups building out their technology function, 0-1 hiring strategies, organisations making their first infrastructure hires or teams partway through a cloud migration or modernisation programme.
We tailor our approach to where you are.
Building or scaling a team. We focus on team structure, technical culture and finding people who will strengthen your ways of working over the long term.
Migration and modernisation. We prioritise specific platform experience and the ability to keep existing services running while the new environment takes shape.
For roles with strong network coverage, we typically shortlist within days, and we’ll share realistic timeframes for niche and senior roles from the start. See our permanent recruitment and contract hiring pages for more detail.
Each of the sectors we support asks something different of its infrastructure, from regulated availability to around-the-clock operations. We recruit infrastructure, cloud and security professionals for:
Fintech:
high-availability payment and banking platforms, with structured threat-led testing.
Insurtech:
legacy modernisation and cloud migration with resilience built in.
Greentech:
energy organisations bringing OT and IT security together.
Transport and logistics:
around-the-clock operations that depend on reliable networks.
Managed service providers and consultancies:
infrastructure, cloud and security talent for client delivery, with NIS2 now bringing these providers into scope.
A specialist IT infrastructure recruiter brings technical understanding, sector networks and market insight to every stage of hiring. Infrastructure professionals keep services running, projects on track and security strong, so finding the right person has a lasting impact on the business.
- Sourcing: professionals with real production ownership.
- Assessment: technical depth and judgement explored before you interview.
- Market insight: salaries, hourly interim rates and availability trends.
- Networks: reaching professionals not on job boards.
- Permanent and interim: both covered, including Wet DBA considerations.
- Sector knowledge: understanding infrastructure priorities in fintech, insurtech, greentech and transport.
IT Infrastructure Market intelligence
Shared by our CEO, Jonathan Ellerbeck
The technologies shaping Dutch infrastructure briefs include:
- Cloud and hybrid: 71% of Dutch businesses with ten or more employees used cloud services in 2024. With growing attention to data residency and provider dependency, professionals confident across Azure, AWS or Google Cloud and on-premise environments stand out.
- Networking: Cisco, SD-WAN and software-defined networking, supported by the Netherlands’ role as a connectivity hub.
- Security: identity, endpoint and secure configuration skills expected across infrastructure roles.
- Automation and virtualisation: Terraform, Ansible and a renewed focus on virtualisation platforms.
- Service management: ServiceNow, TOPdesk and ITIL-aligned practices.
The strongest candidates bring breadth across hybrid environments with consistent reliability and security discipline.
Infrastructure pay in the Netherlands varies by specialism, seniority and sector, with cloud, security and hybrid experience increasingly valued. Indicative ranges:
- Systems Administrator: €23,000 to €60,000 permanent; around €78 per hour interim.
- Network Engineer: €36,000 to €64,000, or around €49,000 to €107,000 at senior level.
- Cloud Engineer: around €57,000 to €90,000 base.
- Security Engineer: €32,000 to €86,000.
Interim IT consultants in areas such as cloud migration and cyber security average around €108 per hour.
The Dutch Cybersecurity Act (Cbw), which implements NIS2, took effect on 15 August 2026 for around 8,000 organisations across 18 sectors. Its core duties of care, incident reporting and registration with the NCSC applied immediately, without a transition period.
Cyber security is now explicitly a board responsibility. Directors can be held personally liable for demonstrable negligence and must complete cyber security training. As a result, many organisations are building security leadership, such as CISOs and information security officers, alongside engineers who can work confidently within formal processes, including meeting 24-hour and 72-hour incident reporting deadlines.
With research suggesting that only around a third of in-scope SMEs are actively working on compliance, many teams are building this capability for the first time. Our consultants explore candidates’ hands-on experience of security and reporting frameworks to help you build a team that is ready.
