Rick started his recruitment career in 2006, he spent the first 11 years at an International STEM skills recruiter before founding R2 Group in 2018.
Rick’s biggest career highlight is the acquisition of the R2 Group by Gravitas which he sees as recognition of years of hard work, dedication and passion for technology recruitment. The acquisition gave him the opportunity to drive forward the Netherlands operations within the Gravitas Group and he is focused on creating meaningful careers for everyone. Despite managing the operational side of business, Rick is also the ‘face’ towards clients and is still heavily involved in making placements. He loves focusing on new businesses, and one of things that motivates him is finding and supporting new clients to meet their staffing goals.
Ricks passion for recruitment comes from making a difference. He finds recruitment the purest type of sales, as he believes that matching people is a real skill where you are ultimately making a difference to someone's life. He still thrives on getting positive feedback from happy clients and candidates, and also loves the challenge of turning something negative into something positive.
Outside of work, and when he’s not enjoying family time, Rick is really passionate about investing in the stock market. In terms of sports, he is a tennis and Formula One fanatic.
